HEY EVERYBODY!!

ree

We just wanted to connect and give all of you a quick update on where we are in the whole missionary transition. God, as you can imagine has been showing up for us in ways that only He can and we are super excited to share some of what He has been doing specifically in the overcoming of our two greatest obstacles, the truck and the house.

Kira and I have tried to remain as debt free as possible over the years and have been fairly successful in doing so, but there are two possessions that were keeping us “slaves to the lender”, my truck and our house. You can imagine the stress that we were feeling in regard to these two objects considering that they were the only two things that were truly in the way of our being totally free to move forward.

HOWEVER, God.

He is truly Magnificent and Wonderful in His purpose and plans and His desire is to work things out for the good of those who love and follow Him.

So here’s the story of how God has made a way and moved metaphorical mountains for us to be totally free to follow Him, and how He has accompanied that freedom with His abundant provision.

Let me start with the brief, but awesome story of how the Truck was moved out of the way.

God laid this missionary ministry call on us at the very end of 2020 and we knew right away that we were going to be selling everything so that we had nothing holding us back. Then January, February, March, April and most of May came and went and we still hadn‘t gotten around to listing the truck for sale.

First of all, we still needed it until the winter was truly over and second, we were jumping through other hoops and taking care of a lot of other particulars ( i.e. becoming official Elim Fellowship Missionaries…).

Kira finally said, “Tomorrow I'll take pictures of the truck to list it."

But before “tomorrow” even had a chance to arrive, Kira received a text message from a great young couple that go to our church, Baker and Ali Anderson, asking us what our plans were for the truck. We explained to them that we were planning on selling it, gave them the details, and then told them that we would hold off on listing it. The very next day this young couple reached out and said that they were 95% certain that they were going to be able to buy it from us and by the end of the week the deal was struck and the truck was sold. It took another week or so to officially hand over the keys, but it was an ever so efficient cash deal that was a 100% blessing.

Next, the house.

I want to start this part of the story with a shameless plug for our real estate agents and their agency, Premier Listings. Kira and I have grown very close with Ellen and Jacob Feldt over the last couple of years through partnering with them at Conduit Ministries where Ellen serves as the Worship Coordinator and Jacob acts as the church’s Tech Director. This couple are not just good people anointed by the Holy Spirit to do ministry at Conduit, but they are also anointed and truly gifted, honest, and caring real estate agents as well. (Feldt‘s, we love you guys!)

So a couple of months before listing the home we met with Jake and Ellen and came up with a transition plan that allowed us to prepare the home for selling, come up with an exit strategy, and then we would list the house on June 1st.

What happened next, blew us away! I don’t know why?!? Because again, God.

We had a handsome offer come in on day one with a 24hr expiration attached that was presented to us. However, our agents had asked all of the other agencies in the area to hold off on submitting any offers until the 4th at 5pm. So even though it was a tempting offer and we were a little afraid to lose out on it, we prayed and felt Holy Spirit tell us to wait and see what He is going to do.

By Friday at 5pm, the house had been shown 21 times and we ended up receiving 8 offers on our little Cape Cod style home.

One of which was a step above the rest and blew that first offer out of the water. It was a cash offer that was nearly 20k beyond our asking price.

Yep. You read that right.

Now you may be saying to yourself that this is just the housing market that we are currently in and that is true, but God knew that this was going to be the case before He ever called us to make this move. He knew the timing in which He was going to ask us to sell our home. He, the God of Heaven and Earth, the Ruler of everything was therefore planning this blessing for us from the beginning of time.

Mind Blown! God is AMAZING!

SO, this is where we get to declare His amazing provision. Because of this financial blessing from the sale of our house as well as the generosity of many individuals and churches from around our community we are now able to pay for 100% of our YWAM Discipleship Training School. We are no longer needing to seek funding for that first portion of what He is calling us to step out into.

THANK GOD! And thank you all so much! Wether you have given money or have simply been remembering us in prayer. We have been blessed by your care!

He said to go, He made a way for us to go, now all we have to do is go.

PRAISE the LORD!!

We have no debt. We have our tickets. We have 8 suitcases. We have our family. We have the light of Christ shining in us and through us… Lets Light Up The Dark!

Stay in touch and be blessed,

The Spencer Family

P.S. Last but certainly not least, we are still praying and seeking people and churches who are willing to come alongside us as long term partners for our life beyond YWAM. Please pray and ask God if He desires that you be a part of the Spencer Family team as we take the gracious light of Christ’s love to those who need to know the good news.
