ALOHA EVERYONE!

We know that it has been a little while since we‘ve posted anything. But we have a good reason for that,

D.T.S. (Discipleship Training SCHOOL).

We are all very literally in school all day long. Monday through Friday we are in lectures until noon with truly gifted guest speakers covering a variety of topics from the Character and Nature of God, Kingdom Worldview, Identity, Holy Spirit, Hearing the Voice of God, Inner Healing, Relationships… In the afternoons we have classes on outreach training, evangelism, family, parenting, or “work duty” where we serve the campus through physical labor.

It is Missionary Boot Camp!

So for everyone of you who thought that this was going to be some relaxing Hawaiian spiritual retreat 😳

Think again! 😂

These past several weeks have been some of the most spiritually, emotionally, and physically demanding we’ve ever had to go through. Honestly! This is designed to be a spiritual endurance race training. Every aspect is meant to strip us down of any wrong beliefs or behaviors primarily pertaining to identity issues that have taken root over a life time, as well as build us up in the truth of who God is and who we are to Him and in Him, while also being presented with opportunities to catch a vision for whatever God may have next for us. This whole process has been wonderfully excruciating, but joyfully transformative! YWAM’s D.T.S. programming has obviously been well thought out and is truly done through the love of Jesus, the conviction of Holy Spirit, and the truth of God’s Word. Preparing and training us to “GO!” and take good news to the ends of the earth -

“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will sore on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” - Isaiah 40:31

We are a little over half way through our “Lecture phase” at this point and so we are beginning to prepare for the ”Outreach Phase”. For those of you do not know or haven’t heard yet,

WE ARE HEADING TO SOUTH AFRICA!

We are going to be leaving around the 20th of December to fly to Durban, South Africa. There is a YWAM base there that we will be partnering with to do some youth programming for Christmas, and then we will be spending the next couple of months there assisting in homeless outreach, drug rehab, small groups, orphanage work, as well as many of the Durban Base’s initiatives…

We look forward to filling you all in as we “GO” and begin the next phase of this D.T.S. We expect to be a blessing as we have been blessed by the grace and love of Jesus Christ! We hope that you will all pray over the Lord’s work in our lives as we continue the lecture phase and prepare for the work and relationships that God has waiting for us in South Africa.
